Neck/Back Injuries

Herniated Discs of the neck and low back - A disk is the soft tissue that acts as a shock absorber between the vertebrae in the neck and lower back.  When a disk is herniated it means that the disc is bulging and pressing on an adjacent nerve.  Treatment involves exercises to relocate the bulging disk to take pressure off the nerve.

Spinal Surgeries (Post Laminectomy and or Spinal Fusion) – A Laminectomy is a surgical procedure performed to remove a damaged spinal disc.  A Spinal fusion is when two adjacent vertebrae are surgically united by a metal rod to fix an instability at that level that could cause significant nerve damage or spinal cord injury.  Treatment focuses on regaining walking ability and strengthening abdominal and lower back muscles in a progressive fashion.
