Hand / Wrist Injuries

Wrist Sprains – A sprain is an overstretching of the ligament of any joint, usually resulting in pain, swelling and limited mobility. Wrist sprains are common with falls. Treatment focuses on reducing swelling and regaining range of motion as soon as pain tolerance allows

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome- A condition where the median nerve is compressed at the junction of the wrist and hand. Symptoms include pain and numbness in index, ring and middle fingers.  Treatment focuses on stretching the ligaments that cross the wrist joint to take pressure off the nerve.  Most often associated with overuse of musical instruments and computers.

Tennis Elbow – This is a common overuse injury occurring in the muscles of the forearm from participating in activities and sports one is not conditioned for.  Treatment focuses on reducing inflammation and muscle tension in the forearm.
